The Same Amazing Day.....

The same day that I captured the amazing images of the eagles, I was also able to get some awesome images of a Blue Heron.   As you will see in the images he is stalking his pray, he captures it, he shakes it into the right position to eat, and down it goes you can actually see the bulge in his neck and of course the shake after to move the fish down the long neck to the stomach and finally his neck is back to normal.  I just love having water in my back yard, until the mosquitos come lol!

An Amazing Day!

A few weekend's ago, I had an awesome experience right in my backyard!  Early in the morning we noticed a lot of ducks in the lake behind our house.  I went out to watch them for a while. I was amazed how they use their group power to gather the fish, and then how they would fight one another over the fish.  I decided to go in and make breakfast and said to my husband, "boy we have lots of different birds out back today, it would be so cool if an eagle would fly by." lol  Well, after breakfast I decided to go back out because I notice a blue heron hunting and figured I would get a few images of this huge bird. As I was snapping away I noticed something in the sky,  a large bird chasing another bird.  I looked through my camera and I couldn't believe my eyes.  It was an eagle, chasing after an osprey, who had food clutched in its claws.  I was so excited I wanted to scream!  I tried to hold the camera steady to get a few shots of this amazing chase happening right in front of me.  When all of a sudden a second eagle came in to the picture and boy they where chasing the osprey and almost got the food right out of its claws.  The osprey finally had enough and dropped the food and the eagle swooped down to get it!  After the eagles got the food they flew off, however the osprey decided to fly right over me.  I was flying high all day, God answered me and I got an amazing show to go with it.  Hope you enjoy the pictures, as much as I did that day!

34 Years of Friendship

Do you have that special someone who has been in your life forever, you know the one you ca call at any time, who knows you better then you know yourself?  I do!  She is absolutely a beautiful woman inside and out, an amazing friend, mother, and wife. She is not only a mother and wife but her daily job is to give back to those in need. She builds homes through a non profit organization called Hosanna Industries.  Hosanna has provided construction services as a means to alleviating poverty since 1990 by way of new construction and rehabilitation.  No, you won't find her behind a desk,  she is out there actually using the hammer and nails along with her husband and many volunteers. Becky, and all of the people at Hosanna are making a difference in this world, they are giving people homes who may not have the means to do so.  So when she called and told me she was coming down for a visit for her 40th birthday and she wanted a photo-session, I couldn't wait!  I finally get to do something great for her.   We started the day by relaxing in the sun at the beach, then went back home were we did hair and makeup and the fun began!  I  love capturing people's essence; their beauty is just magical.  Through my lens I see the look in their eyes that tells me their story then I am able to share it with others. This is why I love my job!  I would like to say one more thing, check out Hosanna Industries they are an awesome group of people, who are always in need of volunteers.  There are also other ways you can help them such as donations and getting the word out.  You can find them at http://www.hosannaindustries.org/ and also on Facebook!   Thank you Becky for being you and letting me share a bit of your story!
