The Same Amazing Day.....

The same day that I captured the amazing images of the eagles, I was also able to get some awesome images of a Blue Heron.   As you will see in the images he is stalking his pray, he captures it, he shakes it into the right position to eat, and down it goes you can actually see the bulge in his neck and of course the shake after to move the fish down the long neck to the stomach and finally his neck is back to normal.  I just love having water in my back yard, until the mosquitos come lol!

An Amazing Day!

A few weekend's ago, I had an awesome experience right in my backyard!  Early in the morning we noticed a lot of ducks in the lake behind our house.  I went out to watch them for a while. I was amazed how they use their group power to gather the fish, and then how they would fight one another over the fish.  I decided to go in and make breakfast and said to my husband, "boy we have lots of different birds out back today, it would be so cool if an eagle would fly by." lol  Well, after breakfast I decided to go back out because I notice a blue heron hunting and figured I would get a few images of this huge bird. As I was snapping away I noticed something in the sky,  a large bird chasing another bird.  I looked through my camera and I couldn't believe my eyes.  It was an eagle, chasing after an osprey, who had food clutched in its claws.  I was so excited I wanted to scream!  I tried to hold the camera steady to get a few shots of this amazing chase happening right in front of me.  When all of a sudden a second eagle came in to the picture and boy they where chasing the osprey and almost got the food right out of its claws.  The osprey finally had enough and dropped the food and the eagle swooped down to get it!  After the eagles got the food they flew off, however the osprey decided to fly right over me.  I was flying high all day, God answered me and I got an amazing show to go with it.  Hope you enjoy the pictures, as much as I did that day!
